Both owner and operators, Brian and
Rachel Smith have operated Graceworld Karate Arts since 2002 in the
Northeast Louisiana area. Through extensive testing, certification and tournament level competition,
they have attained mastery levels in martial arts weaponry, forms
and sparring and now enjoy sharing their skills with their students,
as well as helping children attain their fullest potential in life.

Sensei Brian Smith (Chief
Instructor)
Sensei Brian began his martial arts career when he was a teen.
He later restarted training in
1991. He has attended numerous weapons seminars from world
class champions throughout the years and brings a unique style to
the art of weaponry. He currently performs black light
demonstrations for schools, local events and charitable
organizations. In 2004, he was awarded Shotokan instructor of the
year by the U.S.A. Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
He currently holds certifications in the following martial arts
styles:
- 1st Dan Black Belt - April, 1994 (Shotokan) - 2nd Dan
Black Belt - May, 1996 (American Budo) - 3rd Dan Black Belt - May, 2000

Sensei Rachel Smith
(Assistant Instructor, Program Director)
Sensei Rachel started training in 1991, and earned her First Dan
Black Belt in November, 1994. She was awarded the Southern League of
Martial Arts Competitor of the Year 1991 and 1992 in the Women's Under
Black Belt division. She earned her Second Dan Black Belt in 2002.
Today she directs the programs
provided at the center. She is currently attending
undergraduate studies majoring in Behavioral Psychology. She
plans to graduate in Fall 2011. Her plans are to continue her
studies in Psychometrics and in
Clinical Psychology.
